What Our Cocktail Space Includes
A cocktail space is set up for guests to stand, move around, and mingle. It is not a seated dinner setup. We provide the bar, cocktail tables, and space for guests to flow freely.
Here is what comes with your booking:
- Staffed in-house bar service
- Cocktail tables and limited seating
- Setup and teardown handled by our team
- Day-of coordination included
- China, silverware, and glassware provided
You do not have to hunt down a separate bartender or rental company. We handle it all in one place.
How Many Guests Can the Space Hold
For a cocktail-style event, we can hold up to 80 guests indoors with no tent needed. This works great for winter events, early spring gatherings, and smaller celebrations.
For larger groups between 80 and 300 guests, we move to our outdoor event lawn. A tent is included in the venue fee for those events. Grand Junction gets hot in summer, and afternoon winds pick up on the Mesa. We plan for that. Our tent setup keeps your guests comfortable whether it is a breezy April evening or a warm July night.
How a Cocktail Reception Differs From a Full Reception
A cocktail reception is shorter, lighter, and more social than a seated dinner. Guests stand, snack, and talk. There is no assigned seating and no long formal meal.
Many couples in Grand Junction use a cocktail hour between the ceremony and dinner. Others throw a standalone cocktail event for smaller guest lists at our private banquet hall in Grand Junction, CO. Both work well here. We help you figure out which style fits your headcount and your budget before you commit to anything.
How We Set Up the Space for Good Flow
When a cocktail space is set up well, guests spread out on their own. Lines stay short and the room feels alive. When it is set up poorly, everyone crowds the bar and the corners sit empty.
We put the bar in a central spot so guests move naturally through the space. Food stations stay separate from the bar to split foot traffic. Our events coordinator maps this out with you ahead of time. You will not be figuring out the layout the morning of your event.
How Long Your Cocktail Event Should Run
A cocktail hour before dinner runs about 60 to 75 minutes. A standalone cocktail-only event works best at 90 to 120 minutes. That gives guests time to arrive, settle in, and enjoy the space without the energy dropping off at the end.
Grand Junction evenings from late spring through fall are hard to beat. The light over the Monument turns golden right around 6 p.m. We help you time your event so your guests catch that view at its best.
What to Ask Before You Book Any Venue in Grand Junction
Grand Junction has a smaller pool of wedding and event vendors than Denver or the Front Range. That makes it more important to get clear answers before you sign anything whether you are booking a corporate event venue or planning a wedding. Ask about capacity, bar licensing, setup access time, parking, and indoor backup options.
At Redlands Mesa, all of that is straightforward. Parking is on-site. Bar service is in-house and fully licensed. Setup and teardown are included. If weather forces a change, we have indoor options ready. We go over every detail with you before you book so nothing catches you off guard later.
